Fireworks for Sale in Childwall

Childwall sits on the south-eastern side of Liverpool, which puts it among the closest parts of the city to the shop. Plenty of what goes out that way is at the gentler end of what we sell, and this page is mostly about that end.

For a quieter night

Not every display wants to be the loudest thing that happens all week. Our 10 fountains sit on the ground and throw a steady column of sparks rather than firing anything into the air, which makes them the usual starting point for a night with small children at it. The 9 Roman candles do something similar with more height, one shot at a time instead of all at once.

The 11 selection boxes are the other familiar answer. Each is a mixed set chosen to work as a sequence, so you are not standing in the dark deciding what to light next, and they take the guesswork out of a first display. Our 8 sparklers round the evening off, and they are as often bought for a birthday in June as for November.

Alongside those there are 13 items we file under Bits ’N’ Bobs, which is where the odds and ends live: the small pieces that fill a gap in a running order without costing much, and the sort of thing that gets handed to whoever has been asking all evening whether they can light one.

And when you want more than that

The quieter end is a starting point, not a limit. The full range of 193 fireworks is open to Childwall customers, including the 112 barrages and cakes that most larger displays are built from, and the team at Prescot are used to putting together something in between: a couple of bigger pieces to open and close, with fountains and candles doing the work in the middle.

That shape — one firework to start on, several quieter minutes, one to finish — is the single most useful thing to know when buying a first display, and it is worth saying in the shop what you are planning rather than working it out from the pictures afterwards. 102 of the range is new for 2026, so what worked last year is not necessarily what is there this year.

Coming over

The shop is a short run east of Childwall, and the days and hours it keeps are in the panel on this page — they move about through the season, so a glance before setting off is worth it. For a first display it is worth the visit rather than ordering blind, if only to hold a selection box and see how little of it is actually sparklers.
