Fireworks for Sale in Liverpool

The shop that covers Liverpool, Sky High Fireworks & Fancy Dress, sits just beyond the city’s eastern boundary in Knowsley. Of our four shops it is the closest to every L postcode, which is why a Liverpool order is the same order whether it is brought to you or picked up.

Coming in person is worth the short trip out of the city for one reason above the others: a barrage is difficult to judge from a photograph. A twenty-shot cake and a compound look much the same in a thumbnail and nothing like each other on a counter, and the team there will tell you which is which before you commit to it.

What we sell

The range runs to over 190 fireworks. Barrages and cakes make up the bulk of it, over 100 of them, and that is where most people start. Beyond those there are more than 25 rockets and rocket packs, more than a dozen bundle deals that put a whole night together in one go, over ten selection boxes, ten fountains, 9 Roman candles, 8 sparklers and 3 wheels. More than half the range is new for 2026.

If you would rather work from what you want to spend than from what each firework does, the whole range is also split four ways: under £20, £20 to £50, £50 to £100, and £100 and over. Most people planning a display at home work upwards from the first two bands and add one larger piece to finish on; the top band is where the compounds live, and one of those is usually a display in itself.

There is a buy one get one free group running across part of the range as well. It works by pairing fireworks at the same price point and giving you the cheaper of each pair, so it is worth seeing what is in the group before you settle on anything outside it.

The shop itself

Sky High Fireworks & Fancy Dress is one of two Sky High shops, the other being in Chorley, which is why the two shopfronts look alike. The fancy dress half of the Prescot shop is not an afterthought either: it is the reason a good many Liverpool customers come through the door in late October and leave with both halves of the evening sorted at once.

When to come

The counter opens at 10am on Mondays and at 9am from Tuesday to Friday, and Saturday runs from 9am until 5pm. It is shut every Sunday, which catches people out in the first week of November more than at any other time of year: if the display is a Sunday one, the Saturday before it is the last chance to pick anything up.

Late October and the days either side of the fifth are the busy ones. Coming earlier in the week, or earlier in the season, is the difference between a conversation about what you are planning and a queue.

Beyond Bonfire Night

November is the busiest stretch of the year in Liverpool and the one people plan for, but it is not the only one we sell into. New Year’s Eve, Diwali, weddings and birthdays all run through the shop, and the daylight range of smoke grenades and gender reveal fireworks is there for the events that do not wait for dark.
