Fireworks for Sale in West Derby

West Derby is on the north-eastern side of Liverpool, a straightforward run out to the shop. The orders that go that way tend to be the bigger ones, so this page deals with the part of the range built for a display with a crowd watching it.

Barrages, cakes and compounds

112 of our 193 fireworks are barrages and cakes, and they are what nearly every substantial display is assembled from. One fuse sends up a sequence rather than a single shot, which is why a handful of them will fill more sky than a box of smaller pieces ever could. Compounds take the same idea further by linking several together so they run as one long piece.

Judging between them from a screen is the hard part, and it is the reason the counter at Prescot earns its keep. Two cakes with similar names can behave completely differently, and a minute of someone describing what each one actually does will save you more than any amount of reading.

Putting a whole night together

If you would rather not assemble a display piece by piece, our 14 bundle deals and the firework display packs are made for that: a running order chosen to open, build and finish, bought in one go. The 2 barrage packs do the same at a smaller scale, and the display pack is the largest single thing we sell as one item.

There is also a buy one get one free group. The pairing is by price point, and it is the cheaper of each pair that comes free, so two at the same level cost you one. On a West Derby order of any size that is usually the first thing to check, because it changes what the sensible shape of the display is before you have chosen anything.

What is new this year

102 of our 193 fireworks are new for 2026. That is a little over half the range turned over in a year, which matters more at this end than at the quieter end: if you put on a display for the same people every November, repeating last year’s running order is the one thing they will notice.

Worth coming in for

A display of any size is easier to buy across a counter than off a screen, and it is the one case where the trip pays for itself twice over. This week’s hours are in the panel beside this, and they are the ones to work from rather than last year’s. Anything wanted for a particular night wants buying before the day it is needed rather than on it.
