Fireworks For Sale in Bamber Bridge

Ordering online and picking the order up is the way most of this works, and there are three things about it that are easy to get wrong. None of them is complicated and all three cost somebody a wasted journey every season.

Wait for the email that says it is on the counter

The order confirmation is not that email. The confirmation says the order has been taken; the second one says it has been picked, checked and put on the counter with your name on it. Those are not the same event and there is usually a day between them.

Travelling on the strength of the confirmation is the mistake, and it is an easy one because the confirmation arrives immediately and feels like the finished thing. From Bamber Bridge the journey is short enough that nobody minds much, but it is still a journey nobody needed to make.

It does not have to be the nearest shop

An order can be collected from any of the four counters, free — not only the one the website decides is nearest to you. That is worth knowing if your week takes you somewhere else anyway, because the order follows the request rather than the postcode.

Ask for it when the order goes in rather than afterwards, because the picking happens at one shop and moving a picked order is a different job from putting it on a different counter in the first place.

Somebody over eighteen has to take it

Identification is checked on collection every time. That is not a formality that gets waived for a regular or for a small order, and it applies to whoever actually turns up rather than whoever placed the order. If a parent orders and a seventeen-year-old collects, the order stays on the counter.

The same goes the other way round, which is the part people are relieved by: an order can be collected by somebody else entirely, as long as they are old enough and the shop is expecting them.

What that adds up to

Order it, wait for the second email, send anybody adult, and the whole thing takes ten minutes at the counter. Done in that order it is the cheapest and the fastest of the two ways to get fireworks, and the only reason it ever is not is that somebody set off too early.
