Fireworks For Sale in Standish

The shop that covers Standish does not trade under the name on this website. It is Allsorts Fireworks, and people who have ordered online and then gone to collect have been known to drive past it looking for a sign that says something else.

Four shops, four names

There are four counters behind this site and each one kept the name it already had. That is worth knowing before a first collection: the order is placed here and handed over there, under a different sign, by people who have been selling fireworks in that town for years. Nothing about an order changes because of it — it is only the shop front that is unexpected.

The hours move through the season

This week’s are in the panel on this page, and they are not September’s. The counters open longer as the fifth of November gets nearer, and they have not always changed on the same day as each other.

So the thing to check before driving over is the panel rather than the memory of a previous visit. That goes double for anybody who uses more than one of the four shops, because the four have not always kept the same hours as one another.

Being the nearest town

Standish is among the closest places to this counter, and the practical consequence is that nothing has to be decided in one visit. The useful pattern is to come once with a vague idea and leave with a shortlist, then come back when the date is fixed and the number of people coming is known. Two short visits beat one long one, and only somewhere this near gets the choice.

It also means collection is barely a journey, which changes what is worth ordering. Weight stops being a consideration. The heavier single pieces are the ones most people talk themselves out of buying online and then regret, and from here that argument does not apply.

What to ask for by name

Ask for whoever is serving rather than for a department. It is a counter in a shop, not a trade desk, and the fastest route to the right piece is describing the evening you are planning out loud and letting somebody who has watched these things go up do the narrowing.
