Fireworks For Sale in Accrington

More than half of what is on sale this year was not on sale last year. That is the single most surprising thing about buying fireworks, and nobody is ever told it, so this page is about what it means in practice.

The range turns over every year

Of the fireworks in the catalogue, over 100 of them are new for 2026. Not restocked — new. The rest carry over, which means roughly half of what somebody bought last November can still be bought and roughly half cannot.

It is not the shop being restless. Makers retire lines, change what is in them, and bring out the next thing, and a firework range is closer to a clothing range than to a hardware shelf. Nobody tells the customer, because by the time anybody notices, the thing they are looking for is already gone.

So if you liked something, say so early

This is the whole practical point. If there was one piece last year that made the evening, it is roughly even money whether it is still here — and the time to find out is September, not the first week of November. Bring the name, or a photograph of the box, or even a description of what it did. The counter at Padiham can usually place it from the description alone.

If it has gone, there is almost always something doing the same job, and that is a two-minute conversation. If it is still here, buying it again is the easiest order anybody places all year.

And if you are starting from nothing

The turnover works the other way round too. A display built from this year’s range will not be the one the same people watched last year, which matters if you are the house on the street that does it. Half of a repeat audience will have seen half of last year’s order, and they do notice.

The other thing it means is that there is no point building a mental list across years. What carries over from year to year is not the pieces but the shape of an evening — what opens it, what fills the middle, what it finishes on — and that is worth remembering instead.
